Mix-ups ame 'rain' sounds like ame 'candy'; hare is the noun, hareru the verb.
ame
rain
Rain falls with furu: ame ga furu.
Same sound as ame 'candy'; only the pitch differs.
ame furisou da kara, kasa motte ikou.
Looks like rain, so let's take an umbrella.

otenki is the softer form. tenki ni naru = it'll clear up.

The forecast word for sunny: ashita wa hare.
The verb is hareru (to clear up).

kumo is a cloud. The verb kumoru gives kumotte kita, 'it's clouding over'.
