Follow the waiter asking if you're ready, what you'll drink, whether that's all and if they can clear plates.

Mix-ups The two gochuumon questions differ only at the end: okimari (ready to order?) versus ijou de yoroshii (is that all?).

are you ready to order?
A waiter asks when they come to the table; answer hai, or mou sukoshi (a little more time).
In many places you call the waiter yourself with sumimasen! or a call button on the table.

onomimono wa ikaga nasaimasu ka
what would you like to drink?; would you like a drink?
A waiter asks after you order food; answer X o onegai shimasu, or kekkou desu (no thanks).
Ikaga nasaimasu ka (how would you like it?) also comes with other choices, like size or sauce.
onomimono wa ikaga nasaimasu ka? hotto to aisu ga gozaimasu.
What would you like to drink? We have hot or iced.

Sageru here means to clear away.
